Biox-MembCherry
Biox-MembCherry is a red fluorescent dye (orange in crystalline form) for marking cell membranes. It shows low fluorescence intensity in solution form, but emits intense red fluorescent light when incorporated into the cell membrane lipid bilayer, upon illumination with appropriate wavelengths (~550-600 nm). Biox-MembCherry is a lipophilic marker suitable for observing living cells with a fluorescent microscope. An excellent solution for long-term tracing, or fate mapping of cells, and for marking electrode location in nervous tissue. The staining procedure can be applied to cell cultures, histological samples, or even following direct injection into the living tissue. Labeled cells can be detected by epifluorescence, confocal microscopy, or flow cytometry.
The dye is soluble in dimethylformamide, methanol, ethanol and DMSO.
Biox-Memb-Cherry emission / excitation peaks: 588 / 612nm
Suggested use
Primarily for research laboratories using membrane physiology using confocal microscopy. To determine electrode position in immunohistological studies following electrophysiological measurements.
