Biox-MembOrange
Biox-MembOrange is a fluorescent dye (purple in crystalline form) used to label cell membranes. The dye shows low fluorescence intensity in soluble form, but emits intense orange-red fluorescent light when incorporated into the cell membrane lipid bilayer, in case of illumination with appropriate wavelength (~ 480-560 nm). It is a lipophilic marker suitable for observing living or fixed cells with fluorescent microscopy. The dye is ideal for cell tracing, fate mapping of cells, or even for marking electrode location in tissue. The staining procedure can be applied to cell cultures, histological samples, or even following direct injection into the living tissue. The dye is also soluble in dimethylformamide, methanol, ethanol and DMSO. The recommended applications of Biox-MembOrange are epifluorescence-, confocal microscopy imaging, or flow cytometry.
Biox-MembRed (equivalent to DiI dye) emission / excitation peaks: 549/565 nm
Suggested use
Primarily for research laboratories using membrane physiology using confocal microscopy. To determine electrode position in immunohistological studies following electrophysiological measurements.
